What Women Want to Know About Skin Treatment

The research aimed to discover what women really want to know about Botox treatment, involving over 2,000 respondents.

    Botox Price and Cost

Unsurprisingly, the cost of treatment was the top concern, as the survey found that 54% of women wanted to know how much Botox actually costs. Often cost is the primary stated concern, as people tend to want to get the facts up front to know whether it is affordable or not for them before they go any further.

Dr Anthony Youn, a USA board certified plastic surgeon, reacted to the survey saying:

“Many of my patients believe that Botox Cosmetic is more expensive than it is.”

In the UK, the price of having Botox injections does vary. SkinViva based in the North West offer Botox from £180 for one area (or £38.82 on payment plan).

    Botox Safety and Side Effects

The second major question for women surveyed was about the safety and potential side effects of having Botox – a concern raised by 40%.

Having Botox should indeed be taken seriously as it is a medical procedure, especially in the UK where there are currently no minimum qualifications for those injecting the wrinkle-relaxant. However, there are a growing number of skilled, qualified and experienced medical practitioners.

The team of Aesthetic Clinidians at SkinViva are trained to discuss all the safety aspects of the procedure during the consultation, so that clients can make a properly informed decision as to whether it’s right for them.

    Natural vs ‘Frozen’

In Allergan’s survey, 18% of respondents were concerned that their face would not look natural after treatment.

While the ‘frozen look’ has been seen in the media on certain celebrities, there are many more people worldwide who have regular Botox treatment and opt for subtle results, gently smoothing away lines and wrinkles for younger looking skin.

In order to get the results you want from cosmetic treatments, it is important to discuss the procedure fully with the practitioner. For those new to treatment, going on recommendation can be helpful, as you are able to talk to somebody who’s had the same treatment and see what kind of results they had.

SkinViva based in Manchester advocate the natural look with ‘less is more’.
