Da Vinci Lips

Leonardo Da Vinci was not only one of the world’s greatest artists; he was also a brilliant anatomist and scientist. Da Vinci lips, using our most advanced range of longer-lasting dermal fillers, are based on the rules of proportion and beauty that he discovered.

Why choose Da Vinci Lips?

Da Vinci Lips Demonstration

Dr Tim Pearce demonstrates how the Da Vinci Lips treatment is planned and carried out.

If you want your lips to fit beautifully with the rest of your face to enhance your existing beauty, and to hold that shape and proportion for a year, then choose a Da Vinci lip treatment.

Dr Tim Pearce says:

“The important concept behind Da Vinci lip treatment is that there are some fascinating rules of beauty that were discovered by Leonardo da Vinci that now we can use to design lip treatments.”

The ‘golden ratio’ of 1:1.681 is a mathematical statistic which is found again and again in nature, art and beauty. Dr Pearce continues:

“…we can use it to shift lips in the direction of perfection.”

The treatment incorporates the world’s best Juvederm lip filler that integrates quicker and more accurately than any other, feels more natural, and lasts longer. For those who appreciate the finer details that come with the best techniques and products from the Skinviva aesthetic medical professionals.

We only use the premium Juvederm Volift range for Da Vinci Lips. Volift lasts twice as long as standard Juvederm filler.

How It’s Done

Using a special measuring device, the face and lips are assessed in precise detail, measuring the width of the mouth, its position in relation to the nose and chin, proportion of top to bottom lip, lip distance to chin, lip thickness.

When all the ratios are correct, the face will be balanced and beautiful.

The Da Vinci lip treatment is designed to create an overall picture of beauty without any imbalances.

How does the Da Vinci Lip enhancement work?

Long lasting results with dermal fillers...

The SkinViva aesthetic medical professionals will analyse your lip proportions in relation to your nose, jaw, chin and using da Vinci’s ideas, plan a treatment that makes your lips fit beautifully.

Time is also spent analysing and shaping the details of your Cupid’s bows, vermillion border and philtrum to ensure the subtle details are present.

If you have a slightly narrow mouth or a mouth that isn’t as wide as it should be relative to da Vinci’s golden ratio, long-lasting dermal fillers can be used to make that better with a few injections.

    Got a Question?

Which areas can dermal fillers treat?
Essentially, the lower-half of the face. As well as plumping up lips, dermal fillers correct ever-present lines and lost volume around the forehead, cheeks and upper lip. They also add volume to thinning or crepey skin across hands and the upper body.
What is the difference between lip fillers and lip enhancements?
Lip Fillers and Lip Enhancement are one and the same thing. They both achieve the same goal. We have the means to subtly improve our lips’ fullness, definition and overall shape with lip fillers such as Juvederm Volbella to create the amazing results we see in our long-lasting Da Vinci Lip Enhancement technique.
When will I see the effects of my Da Vinci Lips treatment?
You'll see the results straight away but bear in mind that initial you'll have some swelling which will down down over a few days.
How long will my Da Vinci lip enhancement last?
You can expect results with this procedure, using Juvederm Volbella, to last up to 15 months. You're welcome at any point to come in for a free review with your SkinViva aesthetic medical professionals in order to make an informed decision about when you might like to have a further dermal filler treatment to re-enhance your lips.
Do I need an initial consultation before proceeding with a dermal filler lip treatment?
Our aesthetic medical professionals will always provide a consultation before treatment to ensure you get the results you're looking for.
    Does it hurt?
Our most popular dermal filler, Juvederm Volbella, is designed to inject really smoothly into your lips and it has an in-built anaesthetic called lidocaine to help make your procedure comfortable. We can also use anaesthetic cream or a dental block if you’d prefer.
Will I get a so-called trout pout with dermal fillers?
No. Famous cases of these resulted from permanent lip implants – not the non-permanent hyaluronic acid dermal fillers we use. In addition to this, SkinViva's aesthetic medical professionals are highly experienced at providing a natural, subtle result.
Will the dermal filler become hard or noticeable to touch?
No. The dermal fillers we use take on the characteristics of the body’s own tissue so the product itself won’t be noticeable.
How long will my Da Vinci lip enhancement take?
Typically your procedure is completed in up to 30 minutes. We ask new customers to spend 45 minutes with us so we can get you know you better and also understand clearly what you're looking to achieve.
    Are dermal fillers safe?
Yes. Only 1 in 20,000 treatments result in an allergic reaction. Although dermal fillers can be reversed using another injection, this requirement is extremely rare.
What do I need to consider after the dermal filler treatment?
There is no recovery time with dermal fillers, so you can immediately resume normal daily activities. Avoid excessive alcohol, exercise or sun for the first 24 hours.
Where does the dermal filler go after the results fade?
The gel is broken down naturally and reabsorbed by the skin.
When the results fade, will my lips look worse than how they were before?
No. Your lips will naturally look volume over time as your body breaks down the dermal filler we inject. Without further treatment your lips will simply go back to how they were originally.
Are there any side effects with dermal fillers?
Most possible side effects are related to the action of injecting the skin, not the product itself. These include: redness, minor swelling, itching, tenderness around injection site and potential lumps in the treated area. These can be reduced by massage.

If you are prone to cold sores, there is a small chance that one will occur following a lip enhancement. In very rare instances (1 in 15,000) blood supply from the smallest vessels can be disrupted causing scab formation and, in some cases, scarring.
    Who should avoid dermal fillers?
Women who are pregnant and/or breast-feeding, people with severe allergies or a history of anaphylaxis and consumers of blood thinning medications such as Warfarin or Heparin.
