Here are the 3 components of an AFA

Now, we’ve told you plenty of times what an Advanced Facial Analysis is, but just in case you have missed it, we like to describe an AFA as:

‘An in-depth consultation that takes into consideration your personal anatomy, psychology and the scientific rules of beauty’.

An AFA is a unique consultation that was developed by Dr Tim Pearce and is exclusive to SkinViva.

It is different to any other consultation, as it doesn’t just go through your medical history and run through a treatment you may be enquiring about, but it really takes YOU into consideration.

Your psychology and anatomy are looked at in the most detailed way possible, in conjunction with the scientific rules of beauty.

This means that you are open to all opportunities available that will help you reach your personal goal.

So – what is your Psychology?

Dr Tim explains it as:

‘The first bit is YOU, that’s the psychology, that’s what you want, that’s your story, that’s your perceptions of things that people said about you that were good or bad.’

This means that our clinicians will have a discussion with you about what you want from this experience and try to figure out potential reasons why you are looking into treatments. This ensures that you have the best outcome possible for YOU.

Dr Tim also says that

‘It’s the things you’re proud of, it’s the things you love about yourself or things that you wish were slightly different. That’s the psychology.’

This emphasises how important it is to focus on the things you admire about yourself, rather than just the things you may want to change. Self-love is so important to achieving confidence.

Ok, but what about the Anatomy?

‘That’s the stuff under your skin, the fat pads, the muscles, the nerves, the veins, everything that shifts and change as you get older.’

The anatomy is a complicated and interesting thing. We are made up of so many parts and it is important to understand that they will naturally change as we get older.

Dr Tim puts emphasis on the idea that

‘The doctor has to understand this really clearly before they can make any changes.’

This is why it is so important that it is a medical professional that conducts your treatment. They can understand your anatomy the most, in order to achieve not only the best result, but the safest result too.

That’s great, but where does the science of beauty come in?

Dr Tim describes the science of beauty using this analogy:

‘The rules, the ratios, the pixels that make up a TV screen, the details that make up natural and beautiful faces’

The science of beauty includes a wealth of information that make it clear what makes a beautiful face. One of the key pieces of information includes the golden ratio of 1.618, which is used during measurements in an AFA.

So rather than using these three components on their own like some places may do, it is so important to use all three intertwined with each other so you come out with the best result possible.

Dr Tim says

‘On their own, each of these ingredients doesn’t amount to much, it’s in a combination where all the magic happens. Combine them together and that’s your AFA’.
