Skin Treatments – What Was Hot in 2018?

Happy New Year!

As 2019 begins, we take a look back to see which SkinViva cosmetic skin treatments were most popular for 2018.

Our ‘top 5’ list is measured not by treatments carried out but by looking at the top treatment pages that people looked at on our website. This shows what type of procedure clients are researching, considering and interested in.

Top 5 Treatments for 2018

  1. Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty
The ’30 minute nose job’ at SkinViva can transform the face by creating a nose shape which is straighter, more symmetrical and more harmonious with the overall facial features. The liquid rhinoplasty procedure is an advanced use of dermal fillers, where volume is added to reshape the nose without surgery.
  2. Lip Fillers
No longer just about ‘pump up the volume’, the latest lip filler techniques are designed to accentuate the natural beauty and create and attractive shape and profile. We use top brand fillers designed for lips which incorporate a local anaesthetic for a comfortable experience.
  3. Jowls & Jawline
This procedure is great for improving definition of the jawline and reducing the appearance of jowls. Careful use of injections can lift and redefine this area for a treatment which is rejuvenating and also slimming (for those with strong jawline muscles). Like liquid rhinoplasty, this procedure is carried out with advanced use of dermal fillers, where volume is added to create a more pronounced jawline, also reducing jowls. We also use BOTOX® injections to lifts and smooth the skin for a younger and fresher look.
  4. Belkyra
The hotly anticipated launch of these fat reduction injections has been on hold while the medicine is approved by UK authorities. However, in the meantime, SkinViva clients have been discovering that the jowls and jawline procedures offered at SkinViva can be used to create a more defined jawline.
  5. Tear Troughs
Tear troughs are those dark circles around the eye area. Our clinicians are able to reduce these by carefully adding dermal fillers to boost the delicate skin. The result is fresher and more alert looking eyes.

What About BOTOX® and Fillers?

What’s fascinating is that BOTOX®, the top non-surgical treatment in the UK, is not even in our top 5. Nor is dermal fillers.

Remember this list is on the basis of what people are looking at not what treatment they’re having – and the treatments above use BOTOX® and fillers but with more advanced and sophisticated applications.  So our clinicians still carry out thousands of Botulinum toxin and dermal filler injections, but with more sophisticated applications.

Really, the ‘top 5 treatments’ list shows that SkinViva clients are getting more savvy about the diverse range of treatments available to improve and flatter their facial profiles; as it is in these newer advanced procedures that clients can tackle specific areas of concern.

Our development of facial reshaping alongside anti ageing treatments means that SkinViva appeals to a broad range of clients of all ages, with men as well as women opting for treatments to quickly and non-surgically enhance their faces. It also means that we can provide treatments which don’t just troubleshoot a specific concern, but work together to enhance your look.
