    Closed Rhinoplasty

This is the preferred option for most clients, as the procedure is carried out from inside the nose, so there is no external scarring. The surgeon will make incisions inside the nose and then manipulate the bones and cartilage to reshape the nose. The recovery time is shorter than with open rhinoplasty.

    Open Rhinoplasty

Open rhinoplasty involves reshaping the nose from the outside. The surgeon will make incisions through the skin in order to expose the bones and cartilage so that they can be directly reshaped. This procedure tends to be used where there are greater corrections required and/or breathing problems.  Disadvantages are longer recovery than closed rhinoplasty and external scarring.

    Nose Job Surgery

Both approaches are major surgery. The procedure will be carried out under general anaesthetic and involve a hospital stay.  Recovery is a long process with experts saying it takes around a year for the nose to be properly healed and settled.

What’s more, while rhinoplasty can achieve great results, it is not always perfection. There can be dips or bumps left after healing and some clients do look for non-surgical procedures using dermal fillers to improve the overall outcome by tackling any depressions for a smoother and more even result.

Have you considered a Non-Surgical Nose Job?

For those who have not yet had surgery, non-surgical rhinoplasty can be a very interesting alternative to surgery, especially for clients whose concerns are classed as cosmetic. This does not imply vanity, but refers to there being no anatomical issues such as breathing problems.

In the liquid nose job, dermal fillers are used to create a more even and harmonious profile.  Aesthetic Clinicians can smooth away bumps and dips to create a straighter profile. Issues of asymmetry can also be addressed.

For patients who would prefer to avoid the unpleasantness of surgery (and the recovery), it is definitely worth considering.  It is also significantly less pricey, at £595, it’s around a 10th of the price of surgery.
