Two weeks ago, social media queen Kylie Jenner confirmed that she has had her lip fillers dissolved.
Google confirms that the day Jenner released this information, it reached peak popularity on Google Search.
We at SkinViva HQ have decided to explain what it actually means to have your lips fillers dissolved.
Here at SkinViva we are all about looking natural. Our clinicians use the Golden Ratio of 1:1.6 to achieve this.
Dr Adam says
‘If you go outside that proportion or keep them at 1:1 or do the top lip bigger, then we know that the golden ratio doesn’t fit and they start to look a lot less natural’.
The main way to have your lip fillers dissolved is by having an injectable enzyme solution called Hyaluronidase injected into the lips.
This will naturally break down Hyaluronic acid-based fillers such as Juvederm.
Our bodies naturally produce this enzyme which is why lip fillers are usually temporary, due to our bodies naturally breaking the fillers down on its own.
The procedure can be carried out easily by a medical professional, however, there is a potential risk of being allergic to the reversible injection.
It is important that your practitioner carries out an allergy test on your arm before proceeded to injection the solution.
The Hyaluronidase injection may also temporarily make your lips look smaller due to dissolving any Hyaluronic acid that is naturally in yours lips. However, this is not a permanent change and they should revert back to their original shape and size.

Hello,
I have filler that has been injected too high above my top lip on one side and creates a shadow effect almost like a mustache. I have had my whole top lip dissolved previously with no problems whatsoever, but then the nurse who filled it back up again managed to give me the shadow again! So I’m back to square one! How much will it cost to dissolve a small area of filler? ( I understand the product will travel and may result in a temporary uneven top lip) I would then have it filled back again.
Thank you
J
Hi, because your filler treatment was carried out by another provider, we would recommend that you come in to meet with one of Aesthetic Clinicians in the first instance. They’ll be able to assess the treatment and understand what has caused the shadow. They’ll then advise whether they believe they can dissolve and carry out lip treatment without creating another shadow.
If we’re able to go ahead, we would charge £350 for the reversal but if you were to subsequently have your lips treated at SkinViva, the £350 paid for the reversal can be used as credit against treatment.
Our consultations are free of charge, so if you’d like to book an appointment, please feel free to get in touch via 0161 865 1141 or contact@skinviva.com.
Can Probcel be dissolved?
I believe it can but it’s not a product that we use in clinic.
