Here at SkinViva we were very excited to receive an invitation from Allergan to see first-hand how cosmetic fillers are made.
We sent our aesthetic doctor, Dr Sabba to France to learn more!
Nestled in the beautiful, sleepy hamlet of Pringy in South Eastern France, 30 minutes’ drive south of Geneva, amidst breath taking views of mountainous terrain is the Allergan manufacturing facility.
During the tour of this state of the art facility I saw how hyaluronic acid is turned into filler and packaged.
I was very impressed with the emphasis on safety and the lengths they went to ensure that the fillers used were free from any possible contamination.
I was amazed to learn that each individual syringe is checked by an employee before it is finally packaged and considering 6 million dermal syringes were produced last year alone this is no mean feat!
At SkinViva we only use fillers which contain hyaluronic acid, a sugar found naturally in the body.
There are many factors which need to be taken into account when selecting a filler. One that is easy to mould and has a smooth consistency is important. It should also feel natural and have longevity.
The continued demand for a product that is versatile to inject and work with spurred the development of the new Vycross range of dermal fillers which include Volbella, Volift and Voluma. The natural results offered by these treatments have produced high levels of patient satisfaction.
I consulted with several Allergan scientists during my visit role and it was clear that they are very focused on continuing to develop and discover developing better products.
Given what they have already achieved this is really exciting. Watch this space!
