Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is an innovative treatment offered at SkinViva Clinic in Manchester which is ideal for clients looking for a powerful yet natural way to rejuvenate and improve the skin.
It was originally developed for clinical uses, helping to heal burns, wounds and scar reduction. It can also be used in treatment of sporting injuries to promote healing and recovery; as well as arthritis.
However, it also has tremendous possibilities for improving the appearance of the skin with a host of different applications.
When used for cosmetic and anti ageing treatments, PRP utilises the body’s resources for results that look natural yet are highly effective.
SkinViva Clinic based in Manchester offers PRP treatment for the face, neck and décolletage areas, including:

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a patient’s own blood.
PRP is concentrated with platelets, which are blood cells that contain growth factors. These growth factors help to stimulate the body’s natural healing process.
To perform PRP treatment, a small amount of blood is drawn from the patient’s arm. The blood is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the rest of the blood. The concentrated platelets are then delivered into the treatment area. For skin treatments, this is sometimes done using a needle, but SkinViva use microneedling for a wider and more even coverage. Microneedling works to create a series of mini channels which the prepared solution can penetrate. The concentrated platelets stimulate localised healing and rejuvenation in the body, focused around the area where treatment was delivered. Over the following weeks, the body produces new skin cells, collagen and elastin which improves the texture, health and appearance of the skin.
SkinViva’s clinicians are delighted to be able to offer platelet rich plasma at our Manchester clinic. For more information, see
